About Me

This is a blog for John Weber. One of my joys in life is helping others get ahead in life. Content here will be focused on that from this date forward. John was a Skype for Business MVP (2015-2018) - before that, a Lync Server MVP (2010-2014). I used to write a variety of articles (https://tsoorad.blogspot.com) on technical issues with a smattering of other interests. I have a variety of certifications dating back to Novell CNE and working up through the Microsoft MCP stack to MCITP multiple times. FWIW, I am on my third career - ex-USMC, retired US Army. I have a fancy MBA. The opinions expressed on this blog are mine and mine alone.

IE11 Send to OneNote Borked

Do you use OneNote and send things from IE to OneNote? Have you updated to Win8.1 and IE11? Have you noticed that your IE11 and OneNote 2013 are no longer compatible and in fact you get a nasty message about restarting OneNote and configuring it when you try to send things to OneNote?

OneNote needs to set itself up before you can send to it.  Please run OneNote and then try sending again.

Of course, starting, stopping, reinstalling, playing with, or doing anything else with OneNote does not resolve this.  However, the fine folks at http://www.onenotegem.com/ have provided a simple explanation and solution.  See this right here:  http://www.onenotegem.com/2/post/2013/09/how-to-use-send-to-onenote-or-bring-to-onenote-in-ie-11-in-win81.html

YMMV
